How Becoming a Pilates Instructor Can Change Your Life & Career

By: Ninozzka Blackshire

If you’ve ever thought about turning your passion for movement into a career, becoming a Pilates instructor is hands down one of the best investments you can make. Not only is it fulfilling—you literally get to help people feel better every day—but it also offers financial stability, flexible hours, and an incredibly high return on investment (ROI).

Your ROI starts before your training even ends

One of the best-kept secrets about Pilates teacher training? You can start making money before you even graduate. Many students in Polestar’s Comprehensive training program begin practice teaching (and even landing paid apprentice roles) midway through their training, meaning they can start seeing a return on their investment right away.

Think about it: Most new instructors start at $25/hour, but that’s just the beginning. Once you start teaching group classes, where you earn bonuses per head, you can easily make $50-$60 per hour or more. That means that after just a few classes a week, you could already be covering the cost of your training—and then some.

A career that fits your life, not the other way around

One of the things I love most about being a Pilates instructor is flexibility. I get to create my own schedule, work part-time, and still make a great living. Instead of being stuck in a 9-5 grind, I’m able to spend more time with my family, travel, and actually enjoy my life—all while doing something that makes me feel deeply fulfilled.

And let’s talk about job security—Pilates instructors are in demand everywhere. Whether you want to teach in a studio, a gym, a rehab setting, or even start your own business, the opportunities are endless. Polestar gave me the tools to become a well-rounded, sought-after instructor, and now I easily fill my classes and have the privilege of guiding people on their movement journeys every day.

More than a job – a purpose

Teaching Pilates isn’t just about making money (though, let’s be real, the earning potential is amazing). It’s about showing up, being present, and helping people move better, feel better, and live better. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a client leave a session standing taller, breathing deeper, and feeling more confident in their body.

If you’ve been thinking about becoming a Pilates instructor, take this as your sign—it’s absolutely worth it. And with Polestar’s training, you won’t just learn to teach—you’ll learn to thrive.
