Workshop Overview:

  • As a Pilates teacher, it’s vital to understand pelvic organ prolapse (POP) because it affects up to 1 in 2 women over the age of 50 and nearly 50% of women who have given birth—yet most suffer in silence due to stigma or lack of awareness.
  • Many of the women in your classes may already be experiencing symptoms like heaviness, dragging sensations, or changes in continence without naming it. When you’re informed about POP, you can teach with confidence, adapt movement intelligently, and become a vital part of a woman’s recovery and resilience. This isn’t just about avoiding harm—it’s about empowering women to move freely and reclaim trust in their bodies.
  • In this workshop, you’ll gain insight into the dynamic, interconnected nature of pelvic support systems and how to facilitate long-term functional improvement without fear-based cues or outdated protocols through the lens of Whole Body Pelvic Health and biotensegrity.

What you will learn:

  • The foundational principles of Whole Body Pelvic Health
  • Biotensegrity: what it is and why it matters for the pelvic organs
  • A deeper understanding of pelvic organ prolapse beyond the “falling organs” narrative
  • How the fascial system, breath, alignment, and load management influence prolapse symptoms
  • The role of the nervous system and interoception in pelvic floor function
  • Key Whole Body movement strategies that go beyond Kegels
  • How to create a safe, empowering environment for clients living with POP
