  • Participants will learn how vocalization, breath control, and laryngeal awareness influence intra-abdominal pressure, spinal stability, and pelvic floor activation.
  • Through a mix of theory, experiential movement, and hands-on strategies, attendees will walk away with practical techniques they can immediately integrate into client sessions—especially with populations dealing with core weakness, tension patterns, or pelvic floor dysfunction.

You will learn:

  • Explain the basic anatomy and function of the voice and pelvic floor systems and describe their interrelationship in the context of core activation. (Understanding)

Ginger Garner, PT, MPT, DPT

Dr. Ginger Garner
Dr. Ginger Garner is a doctor of physical therapy (PT, MPT, DPT), board certified in Lifestyle Medicine (DipACLM) and retired athletic trainer (ATC-ret) with post-doctoral training in functional and integrative medicine including yoga and Pilates, visceral mobilization, dry needling, and rehabilitative ultrasound imaging. She is the founder and CEO of Living Well Institute, which has been providing training in Medical Therapeutic Yoga and Integrative Lifestyle Medicine since 2000. Dr. Garner has also established Garner Pelvic Health, offering both in-person and telehealth services for pelvic and orthopedic care.

With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Garner has been instrumental in promoting the integration of lifestyle medicine and therapeutic yoga into healthcare practices. She is the author of several books and numerous book chapters, including "Medical Therapeutic Yoga" and "Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine in Physical Therapy," which she co-edited with Dr. Joe Tatta. Her work is recognized globally, having presented at numerous international conferences and contributed significantly to continuing education in her field.

Dr. Garner is also active in professional organizations such as the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), where she serves in various leadership roles. She lives in Greensboro, North Carolina, with her family.
